Sociology Course Overview

This course is an introductory study in sociology, the study of social behavior and the organization of human society. 

Students will learn about the historical development of the field of sociology and the procedures for conducting research in sociology. 

Students will also learn the importance and role of culture, social structure, socialization, and social change in today’s society.

What is Sociology?

Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior.

What do Sociologists research?

Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations, and societies, and how people interact within these contexts.
